The
Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management (IIITM)
was formally inaugurated by Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kang, the Governor of Kerala
state on November 23, 2000. The institute has started its first batch
of PGDIT programme in 2001 to which degree has awarded in 2003. The creator
of Tata Consultancy Group has delivered the convocation address and awarded
the diplomas to students.
Tata
Consultancy Services (TCS) was started by Mr. Kohli in 1960 when IT was
very near to myth in country like India. Today TCS is computer software
giant. TCS is a part of Tata Group of Companies.
The
Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIITMK)
functions with a mission to be an excellent IT education provider and
to conduct research in the emerging and frontier areas of information
technology and allied technology. Thus institute has the responsibility
to binds well the basic sciences with information technology and working
out newest management methodologies for the cause virtual management.
The
Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management Kerala (IIITMK)
conducts teaching and research programmes at different levels and thus
helps the state of Kerala as well as Republic of India in becoming self
reliant in the field of IT resources including manpower and software etc.
The
institute strives to be a leader in Information Technology and Information
Technology Management.
The
institutes' infrastructure is laced with high end computer resources and
software sufficient enough to impart IT knowledge and conduct sophisticated
researches.

various activities of IIITM Kerala includes-

in basic and applied science and technology and management.

and IT professionals.

PGDIT PROGRAMME
PGDIT programme is a two-year postgraduate programme with four semesters
of structured and streamlined syllabus, summer projects and an internship.
The course includes foundation courses in IT, soft skills, personality
and leadership development programmes, advanced courses like Embedded
System, Software Engineering, Web Technology, Artificial Intelligence
and so on. All the more, the students are trained to align closely with
the competencies and skill-set as demanded by the industry. In addition
to the extremely qualified core faculty, IIITM-K hires the services of
eminent personalities from elite Institutions in India and abroad and
also from Industry. The students here enjoy an excellent learning environment,
with streamed lectures and the digital library accessible on the web round
the clock.
PLACEMENT
IIITM-K has a very active and dedicated placement cell that leaves no
stone unturned to ensure that most of the students who pass out of the
institute are well placed. All the first four batch PGDIT students have
been almost placed in leading IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, MindTree,
IBM, GE, PCS, Zensar, Tata Elxsi, Interra IT, Siemens, Oracle, VMoksha,
VFortress, Amdocs, Huawei, Calsoft, Caritor and several others.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Those with a B.Tech Degree in any discipline or a Master's Degree in Computer
Applications (MCA) with at least 60% aggregate marks in the final exam,
+2 and 10th level are eligible to apply for admission to the PGDIT course.
Those with a valid GATE/CAT score will get exemption from the Entrance
Test; however, they will have to complete all other requirements for securing
admission. Candidates who are doing the final year degree courses may
also apply. However, they must clear all backlogs by the time of the interview,
in case they pass the entrance test and are called for interview. Admissions
are open to all Indian Nationals. However, 50% of the seats are reserved
for Keralites. IIITM-K shall adopt the pattern of communal reservations
being followed for other similar professional courses in Kerala for those
seats reserved for candidates from Kerala.
PGDIT PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
· Two years full time post graduate programme · 3 semesters
of classes with 16 courses · 1 Semester internship in reputed IT
industry, Research Organization or in the institute's R&D projects
· Summer project for two months · Judicious blend of courses
in both IT and Management, including orientations to Entrepreneurship
and Information Systems and Software Enterprise Management. · Courses
