Quality improvement programme

The Quality Improvement Program (QIP) was launched by the Government of India in the year 1970, to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of the faculty members of the engineering institutions in the country. it is now being implemented and monitored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE - A Statutory Body of the Government of India).
The three main activities are being undertaken under the QIP are:
· Providing opportunities for faculty members of AICTE-recognized engineering
· institutions and the Technical Teachers Training Institutes to improve their qualifications, by offering admissions to Masters and Ph.D. degree programme at the QIP centres.
· Organising Short-term Courses at the QIP Centres for serving teachers; and
Curriculum Development Cell activities which help to improve class room
few short-term courses have been organised by the QIP Centres for the benefit of the faculty members from engineering colleges. The courses have proved very useful for the targeted ones.
